Reeview redux

a reebranding

Hi there. I’ve been dormant this year for a few reasons, but after a summer full of good, dense reading I have the itch to write again.

I am still a nerd but I’ve dropped the “Nerd” from Nerd Reeview. If you signed up for pieces about tabletop RPG design, don’t worry. But I spent a lot of time chasing what I thought people wanted to read instead of writing what I wanted to write. So now you’ll also get critical reviews of books, movies, shows, etc., and some more introspective journal-type writing (because that’s what I’m in the mood for right now).

Some pieces I’m thinking about:

• the “right” way to be derivative

• muses

• how Dungeons & Dragons handles faith

• the True Believer, an always-topical book about why mass movements happen

• loving and hating your younger self (by way of The Substance and My Old Ass)

• how to cook a Thanksgiving turkey in 37 years

Let’s get a little classy. A little elevated. We’re gonna be sophisticated little bitches here.
